Places I've Been & People I've Met!

During the busy months of May & June I traveled all across the country speaking to groups as diverse as School Business Administrators (Fort Wayne, Indiana), The Franchise Times Corporation (Minneapolis), The Young President's Organization (New Orleans), The Georgia Judicial System Victims Assistance Program (Atlanta), Thompson Learning (Albany), Foundation for Medical Excellence (Portland, Oregon) and The Department of Veterans Affairs (Dallas). Every presentation was a delightful experience and the groups were outstanding.

In addition to all that travel, I spent a week in Atlanta helping Kodak launch their new line of Ink Jet Printers that feature super low-cost ink replacement cartridges. I was featured on dozens of television programs (e.g. Fox & Friends) and several dozen radio programs across the country. The people at Kodak & Kechum Public Relations were wonderful. (And by the way - it's an fantastic printer!!)

"I have long since gotten over the thrill of a standing ovation - that was an ego boost as a young performer. The one I received this evening at the National Wellness Conference, however, was testimony to the strong intellectual and emotional resonance of the Refrigerator Rights message. My passion for the issue was clearly persuasive and I am thrilled with the response!"

Will gave two presentations to the Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Toledo. This amazing organziation began with the vision of two remarkable women, joined by a few inspired others to become a national model for Hospice care. They now have nearly 400 employees and hundreds of volunteers. As I have experienced in the past, those working with the dying seem to have a remarkably buoyant mood as they appreciate each day of living to the fullest.

Will always enjoys meeting and spending time with company officials as well as their audience. No matter what their job or position, whether management or worker, the message of life balance through Refrigerator Rights Relationships is always strongly received by the organization's gathering.

Toastmasters

Will and his wife, Dr. Sally Miller were recognized by Toastmasters International with their Leadership & Community Service Award.

I was in Ashville, North Carolina this past month to speak to SACUBO - The Southern Association of College and University Business Officers. We had a great experience at the august, historic Grove Park Resort.

I traveled to San Antonio to speak to the Lincoln Financial Group. They were a fantastic group and we had a great time together. And of course San Antonio is one of the most colorful cities in the country. I walked over to the Alamo and took pictures of the old walls and beautiful gardens. And of course the famous River Walk is always a delight. As usual I was there for just two days but I am always blessed by the opportunities I have to travel and see such amazing places with such rich histories.

"Your presentation in San Antonio during our national sales meeting was fantastic. I received nothing but positive reviews about you from my group. "Awesome,""humorous," excellent" and "knowledgeable" were just a few of the comments. As the keynote speaker closing out our first day, you provided exactly what we were looking for - an energetic and humorous yet meaningful and applicable presentation. It's hard to keep 250 people engaged at the end of the day but you managed to do so. Thank you"
Vicki L. Spurling, Senior Sales Consultant, Lincoln Financial Group
I also had the opportunity to speak to the school athletic directors for the state of Indiana. They are big fans of the Bob & Tom radio program and knew me from my affiliation with the show. They loved to laugh but as educators they were also very receptive to the scholarly dimension of the presentation.
"Thanks again for such a fantastic presentation at our state conference. You really set the tone for what became a great couple of days. The evaluations were all glowing in their praise of you!"
Tim Slauter, President, Indiana Interscholastic Athletic Administrators' Association

Will entertains the International Association of Food Industry Suppliers in Pnte Vedra, Florida

Here is a note I received from the Wake Forest School of Medicine about my presentation to a conference in Washington DC: "Thank you so much for being part of our program on the Advances in the Management of Epilepsy. You were quite a hit. I read your book on my way back and really loved it . . . Thanks for being the highlight of our program."

We were extremely happy with Dr. Will Miller's presentation at our event. After his presentation in March, we bookmarked him in the hopes we could use him again sometime in the future. Fortunately (for everyone) we had another opportunity a few weeks ago (August 13) and were very happy to invite him to present to a different audience. He did an outstanding job – his presentation was remarkable, everyone loved it!
McNeil Pharmaceuticals

In New York City Will spoke to Citigroup Smith Barney. No matter what the nature of your organization his message about creating a healthy lifestyle is relevant to everyone. Refrigerator Rights is the REAL answer for combating the stress being experienced by so many many millions of otherwise healthy people. You can order Dr. Will's book through the website.

Will gave a series of presentations to school principals in Connecticut as well as executives from Merrill Lynch in Colorado Springs and Bermuda. These successful professionals often feel the effects of a demanding demanding, high-octane career. Will's teaching about the impact of popular culture on stress offers a unique and incisive analysis of the challenge of the modern lifestyle. And since these powerful ideas are wrapped in standup comedy, the reaction is always positive.

In Scottsdale, Arizona Will presented two workshops to the executives from Zurich Financial Group - a leading global insurance & investment corporation. Everyone in the audience was from Great Britain and they responded enthusiastically to the "Refrigerator Rights" analysis of popular media culture and how it affects our emotional health.

The Pennsylvania Public Transit Conference in Hershey gave a warm reception to Will's Presentation: "Your talk was an inspiration to us all. You are so right about shoulder to shoulder relationships being the ones that matter. My own view of social change can be summarized in the 20 year trend to not put front porches on new homes. Look at the beautiful new homes being built in suburbia. No front porches and often no sidewalks. You can't build shoulder to shoulder sitting by yourself on a deck out back. To protest this great loss, I will spend the entire weekend sitting on my front stoop reading Refrigerator Rights out loud to my neighbors." Well said!

Will spoke to the physicans with McNeil Pharmaceuticals in Bonita Springs, Florida:
"We're still talking, well laughing, about your presentation.
The physician feedback was outstanding!"

"You were definitely a hit with all of our franchise owners. What a great approach to a topic everyone was able to relate to. Your sense of humor combined with a poignant approach to the impact culture has on creating relationships was incredible. Closing our meeting with your presentation on Refrigerator Rights was perfect!"

Will is in demand as a speaker to the financial industry. His presentation on stress management is always popular with professionals in this high anxiety profession.

He recently spoke to the Consumer Bankers Association

"I completed a series of speeches for regional customers of Citigroup Smith Barney. Refrigerator Rights was warmly received. I hope I can come speak to your group in 2005!"
